By the time you’ve read this the new Seat Leon will have been revealed to the public at the Paris motor show ahead of arriving in the UK next March. So this, the Supercopa, is the final hurrah for the outgoing model that has helped Seat make big strides in the corporate marketplace.

It’s a rather appealing model, combining the sporty looks that mimic the Leon racing car – the big bumpers, rear spoiler and 18-inch alloys – with a 170hp diesel engine offering emissions of just 134g/km and excellent standard equipment including satnav, DAB radio, Bluetooth, rear parking sensors and bi-xenon headlamps.

As a stand-out model, the Leon Supercopa certainly looks the part and the 170hp diesel engine is a strong performer, yet it can offer 50.4mpg fuel economy and the five-door practicality of a lower medium hatchback, all for a little over £22,000.
