Seat has brought out a high-spec version of its sporty-looking Leon because fleet policies often don’t allow drivers to add lots of options to their cars.
Available either as a manual or with the DSG semi-automatic gearbox, the Leon is dubbed Stylance Nav Lux and is offered with the 140PS 2.0-litre diesel engine.
Coming in at a running cost of 45.2ppm, according to KwikCarcost, user-choosers gain satnav, heated leather seats and twin-zone climate control over the standard Stylance’s trim, which includes alloys, cruise control and auxiliary socket.
We drove the DSG version, which works well with the engine to offer either economy (officially 48.7mpg) or performance (0-62mph in 9.3 seconds) depending on how you want to drive. The only downside is that the diesel engine is noisy, and even on a motorway cruise it’s intrusive.
Despite that, the Leon is very well-equipped that will attract people out of larger cars looking for a smaller tax bill, but won’t penalise them in the goodies department.
