More on my determination to get good fuel consumption figures out of XC60.
I’ve already written about the (approved) increase in tyre pressure, now the aircon has been turned off.
Early runs showed a marked jump from my previous best of 36.9mpg. So last week I went into full-on fuel-miser mode – no more than 65mph on the motorway, super-gentle throttle etc, and on my usual test route I got 41.8mpg, which is better than the official 37.7mpg average.
Even when I returned to 70mph cruise on the commute, the trip computer was still reading 39.0mpg.
