It’s time to highlight two Auris features we like, and two that are areas of concern.

Firstly, we like the seats, which are comfortable even on long trips. I’m also a fan of the gear lever, an odd thing to say for an auto, but the speed with which reverse is engaged is handy for swift three-point turns on busy London streets. Things we’re not so sure about include the beeps warning that reverse is selected, but isn’t the audible signal for a reversing sensor, and the lack of engine noise in electric mode, which isn’t a fault but does mean pedestrians are startled when the Auris creeps up on them.
