I’m not a fan of bundling every last control onto a touchscreen for the sake of an uncluttered dash. Renault has resisted this temptation with the R-Link 2 system, with the air-conditioning controls kept separate.
There are still some foibles that I find hard to get used to, though. The ‘home’ button to the left of the screen leads to the eco-driving display. To find what I would think of as the home screen means pushing the menu button on the touchscreen. Then there’s a choice of on-screen options (see below). It would be quicker if there were shortcut buttons surrounding the screen
