I’ve just spent a week with the new Renault Megane, which makes an interesting comparison with the Kadjar. The 8.7-inch, portrait-shaped R-Link 2 infotainment system is definitely better than the smaller seven-inch screen in our Kadjar.

The larger size gives more room to display more information at once, and really comes into its own when using the satnav. Accessing the climate control menu is fiddly, though: you need to touch the right part of the screen and drag your finger upwards. Infotainment envy aside, though, I prefer the Kadjar to the Megane: I’ve grown used to the more upright seating position of a crossover, and the Kadjar is much more practical
