Whether you’re big or small, it must be a joy being a second-row Grand Scenic passenger. According to Renault, grown-ups enjoy “best-in-class knee room of 275mm”, while for children there is ample room widthwise for three full car seats.

Handily, the second row of seats also slide back a long way, giving me more room to slide the driver’s seat back. However, due to the way I position my seat and the fact that I use an additional back support, I find that the driver’s seat doesn’t go back quite far enough, leaving me feeling a bit hunched over the steering wheel.
