Whether it’s because satellites are out of kilter above South Oxfordshire or there is a software glitch in the car itself, on most mornings GPS fault warnings appear on the touch screen.

On one recent journey the problem resolved itself after 11 miles and the satnav proceeded to provide effective guidance. However, we will test the technology to determine if it is a localised issue.
