Now my kids have finally taken an interest in the two bikes they’ve had for years and learnt to cycle, I’ve discovered two things:

1) Removing the sticky-out stabilisers has created a bit more room in the boot when transporting them;

2) The older kid now needs a bigger-framed and -wheeled bike – which won’t fit into the Mini‘s otherwise spacious boot without a fight involving sliding the rear seats forward and folding the middle pew-style seat.

Handy flexibility but it looks like it’s time to investigate a bike rack.
