Fresh from successfully resolving a potentially faulty driver airbag a month or so back on our A-class, we got another phone call from the local Mercedes dealer about a new issue that might require applying a ‘preservation agent to the ceiling’.

No more information about this mystery automotive affliction was forthcoming, but the friendly caller from Mercedes Bromley, Kent, suggested we get the car booked in to check, and kindly arranged a collect and return for early the following week to fit into our schedule.

The courteous driver turned up well within both agreed allotted

time frames, but it was confirmed that our model would indeed need a liberal application of the approved Mercedes ceiling wax (or some-such). However, again, as our car is so new, the required ingredient wasn’t in stock, so a further arrangement will be required.

The car drives as well as ever, and to me – and a large number of daily admirers – the A-class shows no visible signs of its ailments, but it would be good to get these teething problems out of the way in order to talk about a few other things aside from two parts issues within my first six reports.
