I’m a fan of the CX-3’s clean and swoopy exterior design but a downside to its shallow-depth side windows – especially as they narrow towards the rear – is a restricted view for passengers.

‘Get over it’, you might say, but there is evidence to suggest a smaller window view causes more car sickness in kids who can’t see out as well due to their shorter height, and it could explain why even my five-foot-plus 12-year-old felt queasy on a recent family mission.

And no, I hadn’t driven as if tackling a rally stage. Given the CX-3 is a family car, maybe it’s something to consider tweaking for the redesign?
