From August’s low point of 42.5mpg to the dizzy heights of 61.5mpg, our otherwise consistent Ceed wagon has carried its roller coaster fuel economy course into autumn.

Following a period of relatively uncongested commuting, a predominantly long-haul motorway regime which generated 60mpg slipped abruptly to the second-lowest figure of 46mpg at our most recent fill-up.

This contributed to a 52.6mpg average over 5500 miles and the conclusion that the Ceed SW is particularly susceptible to varying driving conditions rather than lapsing into using lead-booted techniques.
