I’m getting bored of fighting our Mondeo’s parcel shelf. Big and solid it might be, but that means as soon as it encounters any resistance from a full boot, it pops off the clips that are supposed to hold it in place, rather than offering any degree of flexing.
Generally speaking it’s kids’ pillows at the top of the pile of weekend paraphernalia, and the unclipped parcel shelf then either stops the boot closing properly, or ends up at an angle, so blocking my rearward visibility.
Invariably, I don’t notice the problem until I’m sitting in the driver’s seat, which then necessitates a trip to the back of the car to re-pack the offending items. I’ve never encountered a parcel shelf that’s been so keen to remove itself from its intended position
