The BMW i3 is an incredible electric car, but its boot size isn’t the greatest – 260 litres is not a lot
to play with when the rear seats are upright.

Dropping my two girls off to a summer camp for a week meant two big suitcases to carry and this could only be achieved with the tonneau cover removed rather than hooked into its regular slot.

Not ideal.

The 1100 litres of space freed up if you don’t have any rear passengers to consider is decent though – plenty big enough for trips to the dump or when, for example, picking up two junior-sized bikes from the shop after a service
