I’ve been on a few longer trips in the weeks before the 330d Touring returns to BMW’s Bracknell HQ at the end of its half-year loan period, and its comfort is as impressive as its performance and economy.

Admittedly, part of the excessive £11,000 of optional extra equipment fitted by BMW to our car is the £410 sports seats, complete with £910 electric adjustment with driver memory function and £300 heating, but the range of adjustment means people of pretty much any shape should be able to get comfy.

While on the topic of options, it seems a bit cheap to charge £120 for the useful sliding front armrest.
