Mini has released a Business Edition of its existing five-door Countryman. Aimed directly at fleets, the trim level is lifted from parent company BMW, which has had success with such models.
Excellent
Love or loathe the brand, you can’t knock Mini’s residual values. The Countryman has a superb 40.1% figure and strong RVs are evident throughout the range.
Good
As you’d expect, the Business Edition is kitted out with exactly the sorts of things a company car driver is going to want: Bluetooth, cruise control, satnav and parking sensors to name but a few.
Average
You can’t really call it polluting and thirsty with 115g/km and an official 64.2mpg, but there are plenty of lower medium cars that can beat the Countryman on power, emissions and economy.
Poor
The 350-litre boot and rear passenger legroom can be bettered by small crossovers and lower medium models alike, many of which are also cheaper.
Verdict
This version of the Countryman hits the nail on the head for business users, although it may be worth waiting for the facelifted Countryman this autumn.
