In this iPod-powered age, being able to plug an MP3 player straight into the stereo beats a CD-scattered car every time, and is certainly safer than trying to switch CDs or retune the radio at 70mph. Which is why the BLS is my car of choice for any long runs, like the two days recently that took in south London, Nottingham, Yeovil and Bristol. The BLS was comfortable and refined, but only averaged 40mpg.
