Volkswagen has revealed the first pictures of the revised Tiguan before unveiling the compact 4×4 at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The model has a new front end defined by the horizontal lines that characterise the manufacturer’s latest design DNA.

VW claimed advance sales of the new Tiguan had began earlier than planned in Germany due to high demand leading to the previous model selling out.

In the UK the order book will open at the beginning of the summer before first deliveries in August.

The current Tiguan commanded a 12% market share of the compact SUV segment across Europe in 2010. Since launching the model in 2007, VW has sold 572,000 Tiguans worldwide.
