Volvo has made a series of alterations to the diesel engines in its large cars, pegging almost all of them at 120g/km or less for the 2013 model year.

The S60, V60, V70 and S80 are subject to the changes, with only one model, the 215hp V70 D5, exceeding 120g/km at 126g/km.

In addition, the Driv-e branding, previously used to denote the single, cleanest variant in a model range, will be changed to Drive-E (note the extra ‘e’) and no longer be used to denote a single trim level.

Volvo says it will employ a broader use of the sub brand to highlight eco-friendly efforts in areas such as production.
