Volkswagen Financial Services UK, a top-six leasing company owned by the German car maker, has appointed Albert van den Bergh as a new joint managing director alongside Graham Wheeler.

Van den Bergh replaces Lisa Stacey who will return to Australia to be the managing director of Volkswagen Financial Services Australia after three-year stint in the UK.

He has 26 years’ experience in the automotive finance sector, including ten years working for the Dutch Financial Services joint venture between private importer Pon and VWFS.

During his stint there, the company grew from 250 to 450 employees and a balance sheet totalling 2.8bn euros. He also spent a further 12 years as a KPMG as a chartered accountant.

VWFS UK currently oversee 290,000 finance contracts, 320,000 insurance and aftersales contracts with a total of 1.2 million customers.

In the UK it ranks sixth 15,000 behind Arval though the firm reported a growth of more than 10,000 units in the 2013 BC50 table of the UK’s top leasing companies and has expressed an aim of further grow
