Volkswagen has released the price for its e-Up model, the all-electric version of the Up hatchback city car.

The e-Up will be available to order from 2 December, priced at £24,250 (excluding the £5000 OLEV grant), with first deliveries to be expected in January 2014. Volkswagen has also confirmed that the battery will be included in the price.

The e-Up also looks to serve as an affordable middle candidate compared with its rivals, the Renault Zoe (£18,995) and the Nissan Leaf (£30,000).

The e-Up also comes with a standard three-year warranty, while the service interval stands at 10,000 miles or one year.
