Vodafone Automotive UK has launched a new tracking service for fleet and rental operators.
Known as Vodafone Vehicle Defense, the company claimed the device is easy to install by fleet operators.
The device can also be transferred between vehicles within a short space of time, the company said.
When the system is fitted, it transmits a vehicle’s location to Vodafone Automotive using GPS and GSM technology. There is also an option to constantly transmit a vehicle’s location to Vodafone.
The firm claimed it tracks vehicles across borders in 44 countries, with operatives liaising with local police forces to track and recover vehicles if stolen.
The system comes with the option of a one or two-year subscription.
Vodafone Automotive was formerly known as Cobra before the telecoms giant acquired the Cobra Group in 2014.
