Vauxhall‘s Ecoflex range has sold more than twice the number of fleet vehicles than any green competitors according to the Luton-based carmaker.
Almost 12,300 cars were registered to business customers across the UK, representing 26% of Vauxhall fleet diesel sales and 9% of total 2009 fleet sales.
The sub-119g/km five-door Corsa 1.3 CDTi was the most popular Ecoflex vehicle for businesses, with almost 40% of the green branding’s fleet sales (4920 units), outselling its nearest competitor by nearly three times, said Vauxhall.
The five-door Astra estate and five-door hatchback were second and third most requested followed by the Insignia hatchback.
Vauxhall Fleet brand manager Paul Adler said he expects to see more growth in 2010 as more Ecoflex models are introduced.
“Vauxhall is committed to delivering on the twin pillars of reducing CO2 emissions and improving fuel economy to bring true savings to fleet decision-makers and company car drivers alike,” he added.
A 109k/km Ecoflex version of the new Astra is next in the pipeline, offering emissions below the crucial 111g/km capital allowance level.
