Vauxhall has served notice that it plans to grow its fleet aftersales business, via the brand’s dealer network, by appointing contract hire veteran Ian Dugdale as fleet aftersales development manager.
Dugdale’s remit will include developing the fleet specific parts central billing programme and Vauxhall’s business vehicle Service4Fleet initiative.
Parts central billing involves fleet customers ordering parts, which are consolidated into a single monthly invoice as opposed to multiple invoicing.
Service4Fleet provides menu pricing with a guaranteed rate for fleets. Other benefits include booking in lead times of no more than three working days, collection and delivery within a 10 mile radius (five miles within the M25), a vehicle health check for each vehicle plus valeting with every service.
The company has hired Dugdale, after 10 years with top-50 contract hire firm MNH Platinum, where he was general manager, to increase the service fleet element currently achieved within the retail network and its retention levels.
According to the company it represents an expansion of the fleet aftersales department, alongside Andy Boocock, fleet programme and systems manager and the opportunity to “engage more often” with more fleet and fleet management operations.
Dugdale is a qualified vehicle technician and worked within Vauxhall’s network and independent workshops before moving to the contract hire sector. He took over the newly created role in July.
