Vauxhall has announced the return of the Frontera nameplate, to be applied to a new SUV due later this year.

Vauxhall says the new Frontera, which will be available as an all-electric model, will join the range alongside the next-generation Grandland.

The previous Vauxhall Frontera was a family SUV which went out of production in 2004.

Vauxhall says the first images of the new Frontera will be unveiled in the coming weeks, along with further details of its specification.

The brand claims the new model will bring a ‘new rugged interpretation’ of its design philosophy, and have ‘ a high level of space and versatility’.
