Navigation systems specialist TomTom has launched a single application for business clients.

Called TomTom Bridge, it is designed to allow businesses to integrate their own applications with TomTom’s navigation technology or develop them to work specifically with it, and access them using a portable interface with a seven-inch screen.

The device features wi-fi, a 3G modem, camera and near-field communication, which links to other devices to allow virtual transactions.

It also provides a lifetime supply of TomTom maps and the company’s Traffic alerts facility.

According to its makers, the unit has been designed “for life on the road”, and will be offered with its Webfleet fleet management platform.
