Trafficmaster-owned brand Teletrac has signed a deal with Towergate Insurance to support its Fleetcare+ risk management programme.
Teletrac’s telematics product Fleet Director will provide safety analytics and driver behavior information intended to help reduce risk and lower premiums.
Driver events, such as speeding, harsh braking and cornering and rapid acceleration will be continually monitored and reported; auto re-routing in case of traffic congestion will also be available.
Larry Smith, divisional managing director of Towergate – Motor Division, said: “Telematics offerings predict what could happen in the future and gives us the opportunity to stop the loss before it occurs. Telematics is the future of commercial motor insurance in the UK”.
