Smart has introduced upgrades for its #1 and #3 models via a free over-the-air software update.
New functions added to the cars include optimised energy recovery management, and up-to-date traffic announcements.
Also new is vehicle-to-load capability, which allows external devices to be powered from the main drive battery.
Also introduced is a new lower-level regenerative braking option, and new interior sound effects and engine simulation sounds.
The update also includes new avatar options for the Smart Companion system, and a new flexible 360-degree camera window option.
Smart says the update has been designed based on customer feedback. It has issued five over-the-air updates since the launch of its current product generation.
