Energy firm ScottishPower has seen 230 employees order an electric car in its first year of offering a car benefit scheme via Tusker.

The scheme includes salary sacrifice, and also a grant element where employees receive a lump sum payment if their vehicle carries a ScottishPower livery.

ScottishPower benefits manager Jenny McCosh said: “We are delighted with the engagement we have seen from employees on the scheme, showing their real desire to lower their carbon footprint and be ambassadors for the switch to driving electric.

“We’re proud to be offering our employees the opportunity to drive a brand new electric car and make savings while doing so. It’s a key part of our overall benefits package and fits really well with our corporate sustainability goals.”

Tusker CEO Paul Gilshan said: “ScottishPower have really embraced the car scheme from Tusker with employees making the switch to an affordable, greener and cleaner vehicle when they might not otherwise be able to afford to do so.”
