Saab is to unveil its new 9-5 Sportwagon at the Geneva Motor Show in March before order books open in the Spring in time for the first customer deliveries in September 2011.
Saab said the Sportwagon carries forward the 9-5 saloon’s design cues to bring a distinctive, alternative choice to the prestige large estate sector.
The engine line-up also follows that offered with the saloon and includes a 190hp 2.0-litre diesel with twin turbochargers, the older 160hp single-turbo version and a 180hp 1.6-litre petrol turbo.
Cargo handling features include an adaptable multi-fold floor, flexible U-rail load space configuration and under-floor stowage with a sealed wet stowage compartment. A programmable, powered tailgate is also available.
The Sportwagon is also available with Saab’s XWD all-wheel-drive system and features such as DriveSense adaptive chassis control, adaptive cruise control – from late 2012 – bi xenon SmartBeam adaptive lighting, keyless entry and starting, tri-zone air conditioning and a head-up display, which projects information onto the windscreen.
