The sale of Saab Great Britain to Spyker Cars has been finalised, confirming the UK distributor joins its Swedish parent in new ownership.
General Motors sold the Swedish brand to Dutch sportscar manufacturer Spyker earlier this year, but there was an extra layer of paperwork with the British operation that has now been completed.
With the move into independence, Saab GB will move away from GM’s Luton headquarters into its own premises, which is expected to take place in August. The operation will be headed by existing UK boss Jonathan Nash, with Paul Adler, formerly fleet marketing manager for GM UK Fleet, heading up the fleet business.
The deal’s conclusion is well timed, with the brand’s first new model for some time, the new executive 9-5, arriving in the UK next month.
