Residual value and data provider, Cap, is to launch a new service that will allow companies to check the CO2 emissions of their fleet and make vehicle comparisons to reduce carbon footprint.
Cap said its online Environmental Fleet Manager tool is much more than a simple CO2 calculator and will allow users to select their fleets to maximum environmental and financial benefit. The tool also allows businesses to calculate carbon offsets, based on vehicle mix and mileage driven.
The calculator can detail the emissions of a single vehicle (identified by Cap code or registration plate) or an entire fleet. It will also suggest comparable vehicles to identify those with lower CO2 emissions.
Future developments will include comparisons by selected manufacturers to match fleet policy and comparisons with whole-life costs.
