Transport secretary Lord Adonis has revealed that Labour’s pay-as-you-drive scheme has been shelved.
In a move welcomed by road user-groups such as the AA, Lord Adonis was reported in the national newspapers as saying: “We will definitely not proceed with a national road-charging scheme in the next parliament.”
