Hyundai has announced a number of updates to its Kona Electric.
Cosmetic changes include a new-look closed grille, new LED daytime running lights, new-look headlights and tail lights, and tweaked front and rear bumpers, while inside there’s a new 10.25in digital instrument cluster, and a new USB port for rear seat passengers.
A range of new safety features being added to the car’s Hyundai SmartSense package, including blind-spot assist, rear cross traffic assist, leading vehicle departure alert, safe exit warning, and rear seat alert.
An upgrade to the Bluelink connected services package means drivers can access an advanced battery management system via a smartphone app, selecting charging times that best fit their schedule, or take best advantage of off-peak electricity rates.
Other new app features include last mile navigation via augmented reality or Google Maps, and connected routing, which uses GPS speed information to deliver more accurate traffic forecasting.
There’s also live parking information, and a new free text search to enter addresses or points of interest.
Prices for the updated Kona Electric are yet to be announced.
