BMW‘s facelifted 3-series Coupe and Convertible line-up is important to the brand because it needs to “reclaim” share lost to Audi‘s A5, according to BMW fleet boss Steve Chater.

“The 3-series Coupe and Convertible has long set the benchmark for driving dynamics and packaging, but that sector has become very competitive,” Chater told BusinessCar. “We’ve seen quite a bit of share taken away by A5 so we want to reclaim it.”

Leather is now standard across the Coupe and Convertible range, which accounts for a third of 3-series volume, while there are also slight efficiency improvements as well as the subtle styling changes.
