A massive influx on nearly-new van stock being defleeted could have a huge impact on residual values in the early part of this year, according to RV expert Glass’s.
“With 2007 being a record-breaking year for new vehicle registrations, fleets have plenty of additional used vans to dispose of,” said chief CV editor George Alexander.
As concerns over the economy grow, Alexander predicts firms will be keen to dispose of surplus vehicles.
For the past 30 months nearly-new vans have been in short supply, keeping values higher than expected. Now plentiful supply coming through in early 2008 is effecting poorer condition vans in particular.
