Land Rover has made new mild hybrid diesel engines available with its Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.
The new engines are both 3.0-litre units, producing either 300hp or 350hp.
In the Range Rover, official WLTP fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are 33mpg and 225g/km for the 300hp engine, and 30.8mpg and 241g/km for the 350hp engine, while the respective figures for the Range Rover Sport are 34mpg and 218g/km for the 300hp engine, and 31.2mpg and 238g/km for the 350hp engine.
The engines are RDE2-certified, meaning that technically they are exempt from the 4% BIK diesel surcharge, although due to the high CO2 emissions figures they produce, all the above vehicles are well inside the maximum 37% band anyway.
Other upgrades announced for both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport include Apple Carplay and Android Auto being offered as standard across the ranges, and 4G wi-fi connections for up to eight devices.
Both models now also feature a cabin air ionisations system, to filter out fine dust particles and allergens and neutralise odours.
Both models also come with a 12-month Secure Tracker Pro subscription.
A number of special edition models have also been announced: The Range Rover Westminster, Westminster Black Edition and SVAutobiography Dynamic Black; and the Range Rover Sport HSE Silver, HSE Dynamic Black and SVR Carbon Edition.
