Honda has revealed the production version of its E electric car, ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt motor show later this month.

The car is available with a choice of two power outputs, 136hp or 154hp, with the electricity coming from a 35.5kWh battery, delivering a range of up to 136 miles, and capable of an 80% recharge within 30 minutes.

Onboard technology includes a side camera system, replacing conventional wing mirrors with cameras projecting images onto 6in screens, with the intention of reducing air resistance when driving.

The interior features dual 12.3in infotainment touchscreens, offering functions that can also be accessed through the Honda Personal Assistant AI facility using the voice command ‘OK Honda’.

The E is also compatible with the My Honda+ smartphone app, allowing access to a detailed vehicle condition report, remote climate control, security location monitoring, battery charge control and range monitoring.

Charging station and sat-nav search results can also be sent to the car remotely.

A digital key is also available, allowing the E to be locked and unlocked via a smartphone.

Priority reservations for the E in the UK are available online now.
