Skoda has confirmed UK prices for the new plug-in hybrid version of its Octavia lower-medium car.

The model, badged the iV, is launching with a choice of two equipment grades – SE Technology and SE L – and as either a hatchback or estate.

Prices start at £30,765 for an SE Technology hatch, and rise to £31,745 for an SE Technology estate, £32,525 for an SE L hatch, and £33,605 for an SE L estate.

The iV features a 1.4-litre petrol engine and 85kW electric motor, with a total combined output of 204hp.

The model has a 13kWh battery pack, allowing an all-electric driving range under WLTP testing of up to 43 miles.

WLTP fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are 282.5-188.3mpg and 22-33g/km respectively.

A 3.6kW on-board charger is supplied, meaning a full charge on a standard domestic or workplace 16A supply will take three-and-a-half hours.

Orders for the Octavia iV will open on 3 November.
