Service, maintenance and repair company Prestige Fleet Servicing has added a tracking functionality to its website which allows fleet managers to view in real time the progress of work on their vehicles.
The system, called VehicleTrak, shows where the vehicle is in the system, how long it will be off the road for and how soon it will be before the vehicle can be handed back to the fleet manager.
Prestige said the service will help fleets to plan contingencies, such as replacement vehicles or short-term rental models, if the vehicles are unusable for a time period greater than first expected.
The update also provides detailed analysis of SMR work times and costs, with fleet clients being able to see overall average invoice values, while the system can also show the average cost of invoices by manufacturer and model.
“VehicleTrak will provide fleet managers with greater transparency over their vehicles’ whereabouts in the pipeline and allow them to plan vehicle downtime more effectively,” said Nick Hutton, operations director at Prestige.
He added: “We are delivering on our commitment to provide service centres with the capability to speed up the SMR process from authorisation to completion, while at the same time providing our fleet customers with greater transparency and more detailed analysis of all work our network carries out on their behalf.”
