Europcar has announced the addition of the Polestar 4 electric SUV-coupe to its rental fleet.

The model features a 100kWh battery, allowing a 385-mile official WLTP range. The battery can be charged from 10-80% within 30 minutes via 200kW DC charging.

Europcar says it delivers EVs with a minimum 80% battery level, and they can be returned with only 20% remaining.

Europcar head of electric mobility Tom Middleditch said: “We are excited to add the innovative Polestar 4 to the Europcar fleet, with its long battery range and advanced driver assistance and infotainment features. This is a great introductory vehicle for even the most inexperienced electric car driver.

“Like Europcar, Polestar’s goal is to make electric driving accessible to as many drivers as possible so we’re excited to be the first major rental company to make it available for use for just a few days, weeks or months. It will give motorists a real-world ‘test drive’ experience.

“At Europcar we are continually increasing our range of low and zero tailpipe emission vehicle options available to our customers, facilitating a gradual transition towards zero tailpipe emissions motoring in the coming years.”
