Audi has revealed UK specs and prices for the plug-in hybrid version of its new A5 compact executive car.

Badged E-Hybrid, the powertrain is being made available with a choice of Saloon and Avant estate bodystyles.

It features a 252hp petrol engine and a 142hp electric motor, with a combined maximum output of 299hp.

A 25.9kWh battery capacity (20.7kWh net) allows an EV range of up to 67 miles. A charging capacity of 11kW means a full charge can be completed in two-and-a-half hours.

A5 Saloon E-Hybrids are priced at £48,950 with the Technik equipment grade, £50,950 with Sport, £53,600 with S Line, and £58,620 with Edition 1. Avant versions are £1,900 extra.
