Peugeot has announced a price reduction for its E-Rifter electric MPV, which means the entry-level model is now available with the UK Government’s plug-in vehicle grant.

The E-Rifter, based on the Partner van, is now available in Allure Premium spec for £31,950, which becomes £30,450 once the grant is applied.

Other variants in the range still exceed the £32,000 grant threshold, with the range-topping GT grade priced at £34,690, and the seven-seater long-wheelbase variant, available in Allure Premium spec only, priced at £34,910.

The changes follow the dropping of petrol and diesel variants of the Rifter earlier this year, in a move that also applied to sister Stellantis models the Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo Life.

Grant-eligible versions of the Citroen and Vauxhall were already available.
