Mitsubishi’s Outlander PHEV outsold all other ultra low-emission vehicles in July, accounting for 43% of successful applications for the Government’s £5000 grant for plug-in vehicles emitting less than 75g/km.

The Outlander PHEV is the only SUV on the market eligible for the Government grant. Officially, it achieves 148mpg and 44g/km and is exempt from road tax and London’s congestion charge.

The Government’s grant offers £5000 off the price of plug-in vehicles, with the goal of helping establish the fledging technology in the UK, as there are currently 18 eligible vehicles on the office for low-emissions vehicles list.
