Skoda has opened orders for the new Sportline variant of its Superb upper-medium car.

As previously announced, the equipment grade includes sporty styling tweaks, and a reduction in suspension height intended to improve handling.

The Superb Sportline is available with either a hatchback or estate bodystyle, and a choice of six powertrains – 150hp, 204hp, and 265hp petrol engines; 150hp and 193hp diesels; and a 204hp plug-in hybrid, with the latter available as an estate only.

Prices for the Superb Sportline hatch start at £42,290 with a 150hp petrol engine, and rise as high as £46,695 for a 265hp petrol. Estate prices start at £43,590 for a 150hp petrol, and rise as high as £48,060 for a plug-in hybrid.

The 204hp petrol engine is a new addition to the Superb range, which Skoda is also making available with the SE L and Laurin & Klement equipment grades, priced from £40,425 for an SE L hatch.
