The new plug-in hybrid version of Skoda’s Superb large family car is now available to order.

The Superb iV PHEV, which is available only as an estate, comes with a 25.7kWh battery, allowing an electric-only range of 84 miles under WLTP testing, which in turn means a 5% company car tax BIK rate.

The battery can be recharged at up to 50kW, allowing a 10-80% charge in around 26 minutes, while an 11kW AC charger can perform a 10-80% charge in two-and-a-half hours.

The powertrain features a 116hp electric motor, and also a 150hp petrol engine for a combined maximum output of 204hp. Electric-only, Hybrid, and Sport driving modes are available, and there is a six-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

The Superb iV PHEV is available with a choice of SE Technology, SE L, and Laurin & Klement equipment grades.

Prices start at £41,465 for the SE Technology grade, and rise to £44,820 for SE L, and £48,540 for Laurin & Klement.
