Reservations open today for the fully-electric version of the Fiat 500 hatchback. The convertible version was launched in March.

The electric Fiat 500 launches in top-spec La Prima equipment grade, with lower grades to follow later. Including the plug-in car grant, it costs from £26,995, which includes the fitment of a 3kW wallbox charger.

Thanks to a 42kWh battery, the 500 can travel up to 199miles on the WLTP cycle. It can charge at up to 85kW, which means that an 80% charge takes 35 minutes. It also comes with all the right cables to charge at 11kW.

Initially, the electric 500 is only available in the high-spec La Prima equipment grade, which comes with a panoramic sunroof, synthetic leather seats and dashboard, 17in alloy wheels and full-LED headlights. The standard UConnect 5 infotainment system has a 10.3in touch screen display.

It also features adaptive cruise control, 360-degree parking cameras, blind spot warning and intelligent speed assist.
