Jaguar has announced a new 163hp 2.2-litre diesel engine for the executive class XF, taking it below £30,000 for the first time, while the brand is also launching a new fleet-specific SE Business Edition trim level.

The new engine takes the XF below BMW‘s 5-series and Audi‘s A6 for pricing and power, with the new model costing £29,950, £1000 cheaper than the 190hp version already on sale.

Efficiency for the two tuning levels of the 2.2 diesel are the same at 52.3mpg and 149g/km.

The SE Business Edition model, coming only with the 163hp engine, will cost £1550 more than the SE trim level XF, but offers HDD navigation as standard and only comes with 17-inch alloys.
