Smart has revealed the #5, its new electric large SUV.
The model is the third in the brand’s all-electric line-up, following on from the #1 and #3.
The #5 is 4,705mm long, with a 2,900mm, and features design elements such as a panoramic halo roof, frameless doors, and short front and rear overhangs. Up to 1,530 litres of boot space will be available with the rear seats folded, in addition to a 72-litre ‘frunk’.
The electric powertrain features a 100kWh battery, which Smart says will provide a range of over 459 miles under Chinese market testing – European WLTP figures are yet to be revealed. A 10-80% battery charge will be possible in 15 minutes.
Interior equipment includes a 25.6in augmented reality head-up display, a 10.3in LCD instrument cluster, and two 13in screens, as well as a generative AI voice assistant. Smart says an AMD V2000 high-power computer chip boosts responsiveness.
The #5 is set to arrive in Europe early next year. UK specs and prices are yet to be announced.
