Skoda has revealed a new performance version of its Elroq electric SUV.

The Elroq vRS features two electric motors, producing 340hp between them, which Skoda says will deliver 0-62mph acceleration in 5.4 seconds, faster than any model in its current range.

In addition, an 84kWh battery (79kWh net) will allow a predicted range of more than 340 miles on the official WLTP cycle. Charging rates of up to 185kW enable the battery to recharge from 10-80% in around 26 minutes.

A sport chassis, with suspension lowered by 15mm at the front and 10mm at the rear, is designed to improve driving dynamics, as is a new steering set-up. The brakes are also upgraded.

The vRS is differentiated visually by black trim accents, and alloy wheels measuring up to 21in. The exterior also features LED Matrix beam headlights and LED rear lights with dynamic indicators.

The interior features a three-spoke heated sports steering wheel, heated sports front seats, and stainless steel pedal covers. There are also vRS-specific graphics for the 5in digital cockpit display and 13in infotainment display.

UK specs and prices for the Elroq vRS are due to be announced later this month, with the first deliveries scheduled for summer.
